The Queen’s cause of death has been listed as ‘old age’

The death certificate of Queen Elizabeth II was officially released on Thursday, revealing the 96-year-old monarch’s cause of death was listed simply as ‘old age’.

Scotland’s National Records published the extract from a death register entry, which officially noted that the Queen had died at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire on September 8.

The official time of death was given at 3:10 p.m., nearly two hours before her children, Princes Andrew and Edward, and her grandson, Prince William, arrived at the castle, and nearly three hours and a half before his death was announced to the public. .

Her two other children, King Charles III and Princess Anne, were already with the ailing monarch when he died, with Anne listed as a signer on the death certificate.

The Queen’s habitual residence was listed as Windsor Castle, while her occupancy was listed simply as “Her Majesty The Queen”.

The document also contains the names and royal duties of her late husband, Prince Philip, as well as her father and mother, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.

The doctor who signed the death certificate was Douglass Glass, who had served in the role of house apothecary at Balmoral since at least 2009.

According to NHS Education for Scotlanda certifying physician should not list “old age” as the sole cause of death on a medical certificate, unless he has treated the deceased for a long period of time, he has observed a gradual deterioration in the patient’s state of health , if he is not aware of any identifiable illness or injury contributing to death, and the patient was 80 years of age or older.
